The Bison were trailing the nation's top-ranked team by two goals and Virginia's Drew Fallon was preparing to take a penalty kick. But he missed, and the Bison responded with three straight goals, including Anthony Laird's game-winner with 7:34 left in overtime, to shock the Cavaliers, 3-2, and advance to the Final Four.

With a 2-0 lead, the Cavaliers (18-1-3) were awarded the penalty kick when [Howard]'s Chris Conti was called for a handball in the goal mouth. Rarely does a player miss a penalty kick, which is taken from 12 yards, but Fallon's shot toward the lower left corner was stopped by Bison goalie Shaka Hislop.
