Drew Fallon didn't make it. [HOWARD] goalie Shaka Hislop guessed correctly, diving to his right as Fallon knocked the unobstructed 12-yarder to his left. It was the first of three saves by Hislop, who came up big again when he smothered a point-blank attempt by Richie Williams in the first minute of the first 10-minute OT.

A giveaway in the midfield led to the first Howard goal. Virginia keeper Tony Meola made a diving left-handed deflection of a bullet from the left by [Peter Isaacs], but Akanni, left unattended, walked in to tap in the rebound 12:41

Hislop definitely was the star of the game, Arena said, although Isaacs and Akanni both displayed uncanny abilities with the ball. "(Hislop) came up bigger than you would expected."
