Problems and protests hit World Cup

In the African competition, Morocco are preparing a complaint on alleged sabotage of the Moroccan team by the referee of last Sunday's match against Zaire in Kinshasa. The Zaire victory ensured the home side's qualification — the first time a black African team will be in the finals.

Similar trouble about refereeing has plagued the Central American, North American and Caribbean (Concacaf) qualifying tournament now being held in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

The Concacaf series, in which Haiti are leading with six points to Mexico's four, ends on Tuesday.
