Standard of our football

FROM THE reports of national coach, George Thompson, the Jamaica team played very well on their recent tour of Trinidad, then it is obvious that Trinidad football is way ahead of ours.

On that tour which marked the celebrations of the Diamond Jubilee of the Trinidad Football Association, Jamaica were beaten 1-0 in two games with Trinidad, but defeated a Combined College team.

There was a time when Jamaica had it over Trinidad at football, but it seems as if the picture is gradually changing. This might be Thompson's big chance to make a name for himself.

What our footballers and football administrators are to set their sights on right now is the 1970 World Cup tournament.
