Pele for Trinidad's Independence celebrations

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Aug. 20 (Reuters):

World-famous Brazilian footballer, Pele, will be seen in action in Trinidad when his team, Santos, take on a local national team as part of this country's tenth anniversary independence celebration.

The Santos Club will arrive in Trinidad on September 5 and return to Brazil the fallowing day.

An official release yesterday said the tour was being made through the kind courtesy of the government of Brazil which accepted an invitation from the Trinidad and Tobago government for the tour.

Pele and Santos were being flown to Trinidad free of charge by the Brazil Airline, Cruzeiro Do Sul.

Last year plans to bring Santos to Trinidad did not materialise because the Trinidad Football Association rejected a request for 80,000 dollars (J$30,000) from the club's agents.
