PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Dec. 21 (AP):

Jamaican impressario Stephen Hill flew out of Trinidad this morning after failing in his bid to bring the Brazilian football club team Santos here for a match against the national side.

Hill's bid to stage the game ran into trouble when he asked the Football Association to come up with a fee of about $42,000 for the match. The Association suggested the Santos side, which includes world famous Pele and two other World Cup stars, make after-match appearances at a function at which medals would be presented to them. Officials said Hill refused.

He is reported to have made approaches to commercial firms and government officials in an effort to stage the match, but these also did not rnaterialize. It is understood that Hill forwarded a letter to government via the Parliamentary Secretary for Sport in a bid to bring the Brazilians here, but got no reply.
