A NATIONAL Stadium plan for Trinidad, embracing all sports with the exception of cricket, and the siting of the Stadium at Trincity, have been recommended to the Government of Trinidad by the Citizens Sports Committee of the Pegasus Literary Cultural Organization.

The Stadium plan, based on a sports centre arrangement provided by a London firm of architects and planners, will seat 30,000 and accommodate cycling, football, swimming, boxing, wrestling, fencing, judo, gymnastics, table tennis, weightlifting, badminton, squash, lawn tennis, netball and basketball.

It has not been disclosed how much land Trincity has offered but reliable sources intimated that the company was prepared to give as many as 72 acres, which would include a parking lot which would be used during the days to serve the commercial centre of Trincity, and would thus reduce the maintenance of the Stadium.
