As reported in the Free Press last week, only six countries will boot the soccer ball in the Pan-American Games. They are Canada, Mexico, United States, Argentina, Bermuda and Colombia.

The Pan-Am Committee sent out invitations to 20 countries in the North and South American continents, but fourteen never responded. Don Frith, soccer chairman, extended the deadline in hope more countries would enter but there was no response.

A meeting of the soccer committee will be held Tuesday to make final plans for handling the tourney. With such a small entry, it is likely six countries will meet in a round-robin series with the two top teams playing a best-of-three final.

The afternoon games will be played at Alexander Park, and the night games at the Winnipeg Stadium.
