No sooner will the Champions' Cup be decided than the playoffs for the last two places in the premier competition for national teams, the Gold Cup, will begin in Los Angeles.

Canada, Cuba, El Salvador and Haiti will fight it out over three days, October 6, 8 and 10, in a round robin tournament with the top two gaining the final two places in the Gold Cup itself.

Seven nations of The Football Confederation - Mexico, USA, Jamaica, Trinidad, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Honduras - and three guests - Colombia, S. Korea and Peru - are already qualified or confirmed for the Gold Cup.

Dates of the final are February 10 to 27, 2000 in Miami, San Diego and Los Angeles. The complete schedule of games will be announced at a press conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 12.
