Barbados, Guyana Score Victories

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA (REUTERS) -- Guyana and Barbados scored victories here in the soccer and cricket finals of the Caribbean Breweries Sports Festival for the Pepsi-Cola Trophy.

Trinidad and Tobago was on the receiving end of both.

The festival involves Hanks-Dih of Guyana, Carib of Trinidad and Tobago, and Banks of Barbados.

In the soccer final, Guyana, who had beaten Barbados 5-0 in the opener, defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-1, after having led at half time.

In the cricket final Barbados triumphed over the Trinidadians, who had overwhelmed the Guyanese, shooting them out for 50 and then making 52 for the loss of only three wickets.

Trinidad and Tobago made 101 all out in 24.1 overs to Barbados' 103/4.
