WASHINGTON -- A goal by Syracuse's Frank Odoi with two minutes remaining enabled the Scorpions to gain a 2-2 tie with the first-place Washington Darts in an American Soccer League game in front of 2,000 onlookers here Sunday.

The tie left Syracuse with a 5-2-4 record in league play while Washington is now 7-0-5, and remains unbeaten.

Washington led, 1-0 at halftime, on a goal after six minutes of play by Jerry Brown. Syracuse tied the score a minute into the second half when Frank Odoi headed in his first goal with an assist from Gladstone Ofori.

John Kerr put the Darts back in front with a kick into an empty net at the 36-minute mark. At the time, Syracuse goalie Claude Campos was out of action due to injury.

Then Odoi scored his second goal, and the game finished in a deadlock. The game was hard-fought, and four Scorpions -- Campos, Winston Earle, Andre Lagendjyk and Don Lalka -- were injured. In another contest, Rochester defeated Boston, 3-1.
