Canadian Kids Bounce Bermuda

TORONTO (CP) — Centre forward Bruce Miller scored three goals Saturday as Canada defeated Bermuda 4-1 in a match in the Confederation of North-Central-American and Caribbean Soccer Associations (CONCACAF) tournament.

Carmelio Barburi had the other Canadian goal and Bermuda team captain Ralph Douglas had the lone goal for the losers.

In a match in Ottawa, Mexico walloped Puerto Rico 16-0.

With one minute of play remaining, Costa Rica's Freddy Miranda Arrieta scored on a free kick Sunday to fashion a 1-1 tie with Trinidad in the second day of the International boy's soccer tournament.

Trinidad opened the scoring in the 21st minute of the first half on a free kick by Winston Hackett.

Ottawa is one four Ontario cities at which the youth tournament for boys under 18 years of age is being played. Other cities are Toronto, London and Sudbury.

The tournament continues Tuesday night when Costa Rica meets Puerto Rico.
