LOS ANGELES (UPI)—Antonoio DeLaTorre a Mexican national team member tapped in a three-yard shot with the match only minutes old to lead Universidad of Mexico to a 3-1 exhibition soccer win Sunday over the Los Angeles Aztecs.

The loss evened the Aztecs international series with Mexican teams at 2-2 after having beaten Monterrey and Atlante and losing last week to Club America.

The American team opens its North American Soccer League season May 5 against Seattle.

DeLaTorre, who at 23 is one of the youngest members of the Mexican national team, scored on a low foot tap that bounced off the hand of Aztec goalie Kelvin Barclay in the third minute.

"I didn't see the ball on the goal," Barclay said. "The defense had me blocked off."

Universidad took a 2-0 halftime lead in the 17th minute when Manuel Aranda passed to Jose Luis Lopez and Lopez slammed in a foot shot on the left side from seven yards out.

Hernan Cabalceta scored Universidad's third goal in the 78th minute on a straightaway foot shot from 20 yards out into the left top part of the net.

The Aztecs didn't score until the 89th minute when Jerry Kazarian passed to Uri Banhoffer who beat Universidad goalie Horacio Sanchez.
