THE BISONS SOCCER SQUAD of Howard University are due to arrive here tonight at 8 o'clock by Air Jamaica from Miami, to embark on a four-match series which ends with their departure on Sunday, January 9.

Soccer kingpins from Washington, D.C., the Bisons were runners-up in the National Collegiate Competition last year and are poised this year to capture the top prize which eluded them this season.

They will begin their four match series with an encounter with the UWI First Division team at Mona Bowl 4 p.m.

The match was originally scheduled for Sunday but last-minute changed were made at a meeting held at the residence of KSAFA president Mr. Ralph Bardowell yeserday.

On Wednesday the tourists play their second match when they tackle a Boys' Town invitational team 8 p.m. at the National Stadium.

Their third match will be with an All-Schools team made up of players who participated in the Manning Cup and daCosta Cup competitions. This match is set for Friday 4.15 p.m. at the National Stadium.

The first match will be against a Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) team on Saturday evening 8 o'clock at the National Stadium.

Mr. Bardowell told the Gleaner last night that it was planned to arrange a match between daCosta Cup champions Vere Technical, with the Bisons, but a spokesman for the Howard University said that this would add weight to their busy schedule.

Main reason for the Howard visit is to ferret out talent to buttress the soccer personnel of the University.

Team-scout Sala Yousif will therefore be keeping an eye for schoolboy players, whose skill with the ball is commensurate with their mental agility in the classroom.
