3 at Howard named to All-South soccer team

Three Howard University players have been named to the All-South Soccer team. The selections were announced by Bill Shellenbergen, chairman of the All-America Committee, Soccer Coaches Association, and coach at Lynchburg (Va.) College.

They were Carlton Briggs, left fullback - 1st team; Nixon Asomani, outside right - 2nd team; and Leon Hunter, right fullback - 3rd team.

Briggs is a 6-foot 3, 198 pound graduate of Presentation high school, Trinidad, W.I. He lives at 534 Kenyon St., NW. Asomani, 5-foot 10, 150 pounds, was graduated from Western high school, Accra, Ghana. He resides at 1833 T St., NW.

Leon Hunter, 5-foot 10, 147 pounds, is a graduate of Guianes high school in British Guiana. His Washington address is at 4418 3rd St., NW.

All three are Juniors in the College of Liberal Arts, and have one year of playing eligibility left.
