NO REPLY has been received by the Council of the Jamaica Football Association from the Trinidad FA concerning the proposed tour of an English soccer team to Jamaica during the tercentenary celebrations of British rule in the island next year.
Following the recent decision of the Council to make every effort to have the team in Jamaica during the celebrations, the Council wrote to Mr. Eric James, secretary of the Trinidad FA, for information of the likely cost of the tour.
The English team is due to visit the West Indies, including Jamaica, during May-June next year. Trinidad and Jamaica will be called upon to finance the tour.
Up to yesterday the Council had not received a reply from Mr. James.
The Council are awaiting the information so that they can go ahead in the preparation of plans for the tour which will be presented to Government.
