TRINIDAD'S PHOENIX STRONG

International Club Football

HARBOUR VIEW will get one of their stiffest tests when they oppose Phoenix Club of Trinidad in a football encounter at the National Stadium starting at 6:00 this evening.

The former Major League champions who for the past weeks have been preparing for this game will encounter several top professional soccer players from Trinidad who have represented their country in several international games.

Comparing the teams the visitors seem to have the edge as their top professional players are expected to put out their best.

Harbour View on the other hand have been ranked among the top clubs in the island but today they could find themselves up against too much opposition if Phoenix Club professionals display true international soccer.

Phoenix' top players for this game and who have played in the North American Soccer League will be the key men for this evening's encounter they are goalkeeper Earle Carter, Selris Figaro, Everald Cummings, Noel Llewellyn and Winston Phillip.

Apart from these five the other to watch are Milton Archibald, Wayne Percival, Brian John, Ulric Boxill, Renwick Williams, Desmond Headley, Daniel Muller, Gerry Hackett, Derek Coker, Rudy Howell, Michael Whiley, Chris Pollidore and Nobert Rogers Cox.

Harbour View will bank on goalkeeper Donovan Hayles, strikers Michael Thompson, Clyde Jueridini and Carl Grant for a winning chance with Mark Salmon, Harry Tennant, Junior Groves in the middle to counter the attacking Phoenix linkmen while in the defence backing up goalkeeper Hayles, will be Burt Robinson, Keith Cunningham and Roy Francis.

The other players in the Harbour View Squad are Orville Blake, Michael Jones, Stanley Stewart, Christopher Spaldings, Wayne Hunter, Neville Richards, Cornell Dias, Derrick Roberts, Linval McKenzie and Harrington Brown.

Both Clubs will not select their starting eleven until just before the start of the match.
