7. International Football: The offer of the J.F.A. to afford our western end of the island the opportunity of seeing the visiting Trinidad team in action was accepted by the Board and on the 13th of January, 1936 was played it Jarrett Park the greatest match witnessed in Montego Bay for many years. Fresh from their victories over the All-Kingston teams which represented Jamaica in the international fixtures of the tour, the

put to it to eventually nose out by 2 goals to 1. At the dinner given by the Board at the Chatham Hotel that night the Captain, Mr. Wilkinson, paid glowing tribute to both the standard of play of our team and its cleanliness, and expressed the hope that when a Jamaican team was sent to Trinidad, Montego Bay would be represented. A dance was also given by the Board that night in honour of the visitors at the Guild pavilion and the rigours
of training being over, ours being their last fixture in Jamaica, they enjoyed themselves immensely and left us with many expressions of appreciation not only of our football but of the hospitality of the people of this northern metropolis. The Board desires to put on record
its appreciation of and thanks to all those who helped to make the visit a success, and particularly the people of the County of Cornwall and other distant parishes who journeyed here to witness the match and make the effort a financial success.
