JAMAICA FOOTBALL VISIT TO DEMERARA

There seems very little prospect of Jamaica being able to send a football side to Demerara, or to play in the inter-Colonial tournament during the present year.

The costs are far too high—apparently the J. F. A. would be required to put down £250 for passages, and to stand the expense of the board of the team on top of this, say about £400 altogether—to gain what? the doubtful glory of defeating Trinidad or Demerara (doubtful from any point of view, because they would probably defeat us).

No, I am afraid this is not a proposition that will appeal to the J. F. A.—and, without their sanction, it is certain no Jamaica football side will leave this island to contend with such strong sides as Demerara or Trinidad.
