Harbour View FC vs K&SI Phoenix

A party of professional footballers from the K and S I Phoenix Club of Trinidad will arrive in the island to oppose Harbour View F C in a Soccer game at the National Stadium on Tuesday, May 22.

The players are expected to arrive in the island on Monday, May 21 and the squad expected are Selris Figaro, Everald Cummings, Gerald Figeroux, Earl Carter, Noel Llewellyn, Milton Archibald, Desmond Headley, Ulric Boxill, Renwick Williams, George Warner, Rudy Howell, Wayne Percival, Winston Phillip, Brian John, Daniel Muller, Gerry Hackett, Derek Coker, Michael Whiley, Chris Pollidore and Nobert Rogers Cox.

The team comprises of players who have represented Trinidad and Tobago from time to time, four of whom have played professionally for teams in England: Carter, Mexico: Cummings and America: Figaro, Figeroux and Llewellyn.

Members of the team have played against teams from England, Brazil, Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, Suriname, Honduras, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, U.S.A., Canada, Jamaica, French English, Dutch and Spanish Islands in the Caribbean.

Those who have played in the North American Soccer League are Figaro, Los Angeles Aztecs and who has captained the Trinidad team since 1976, Cummings, Atlanta Chiefs and Vera Cruz Club of Mexico, Earle Carter now with the New York Cosmos and who played for Shrewsbury Town in the English Football League and Leo Victor of Suriname, Llewellyn, Los Angeles Aztecs, while Phillip is a USA based player.

Harbour View after this game against the Phoenix Club will travel to Trinidad for two games between the second or third week of June with their first game at San Fernando and the final game at the Queens Park Oval.

The arrangements of the matches were made by Kenrick Belcon, Governing Director, and Les Brown, Executive, of the Phoenix Club who visited the island some four days ago to have talks with officials of the Harbour View Club.
